Getting Started
To create your first journey, sign in to your account and navigate to your Dashboard. Click the 'Create Journey' button, give your journey a title, and start adding stops along your route. You can add photos, descriptions, and choose transport modes for each leg of your trip.
ChillTrails supports multiple transport modes including car, train, plane, boat, bus, bike, and walking. Each mode is displayed with a unique style on the map, helping visualize how you traveled between stops.
When editing a stop, you'll see an option to upload photos. You can add up to 5 photos per stop. Simply click the upload area or drag and drop your images. Photos will be automatically optimized for the best viewing experience.
Yes! You can edit your journeys at any time. Go to your Dashboard, find the journey you want to modify, and click the edit button. You can update the title, description, stops, photos, and privacy settings.
Account & Privacy
Go to Settings in your Dashboard to update your display name. Your display name appears on your public journeys and profile. Changes take effect immediately.
Yes, you can delete your account from the Settings page. This action is permanent and will remove all your data, including journeys and photos. We recommend exporting any content you want to keep before deleting your account.
By default, new journeys are private and only visible to you. You can make a journey public when creating or editing it. Public journeys can be viewed by anyone and may appear in the Stories section.
When editing a journey, look for the privacy toggle or visibility setting. Set it to 'Private' to ensure only you can view the journey. Private journeys won't appear in public searches or the Stories page.
Sharing & Discovery
Once your journey is public, you can share it using the share button on the journey page. You'll get a direct link that you can send to friends, post on social media, or embed on your blog or website.
Currently, ChillTrails focuses on journey documentation and sharing. Commenting features may be added in future updates. For now, share your journey link to receive feedback through other channels.
Featured journeys are hand-picked by our team to showcase inspiring travel stories. They appear prominently on the Stories page. Creating detailed, high-quality journeys with great photos increases your chances of being featured.
Yes! Public journeys can be embedded on external websites. On the journey page, look for the embed option in the share menu to get the embed code. Simply paste this code into your website's HTML.
Troubleshooting
If the map isn't displaying properly, try refreshing the page first. Check your internet connection and make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). Clearing your browser cache can also help resolve display issues.
Photos must be in JPG, PNG, or WebP format and under 10MB in size. If uploads fail, check your internet connection and try again. Very large images may take longer to process. If issues persist, try using a different browser.
Route display depends on the transport mode selected and available road/path data. For walking or cycling routes in remote areas, the path may follow roads. Make sure you've selected the correct transport mode for each journey segment.
If you're having trouble signing in, make sure you're using the same Google account you registered with. Try clearing your browser cookies or using an incognito window. If you still can't access your account, contact our support team for assistance.
